2. My first Obstetrical Visit

It is your most important appointment focusing on you and the well being of your baby.

Your doctor will get to know you, your partner and ask some questions about your history. With a one-to-one nurse, the doctor will perform your physical exam, blood labs and ultrasound and determine the age your baby. We encourage you to bring your partner to the appointment as well. We will discuss changes associated with pregnancy, weight gain, etc… and explain the importance of your prenatal vitamins and iron supplements and answer all questions you and/or your partner may have.

Your consult is a very valuable appointment and we will be happy to take great care of you.

3. Fetal Monitoring

Fetal monitoring involves checking the heart rate of the baby. It is a useful tool and also could be combined with the ultrasound to assure that your baby is doing well.

4. Ultrasound 2D and 4D.

Ultrasound is a very important exam we will do for you. It helps determine the age of your baby, size, anatomy, growth, if you have twins and see if you have any ovarian cysts, fibroids etc…it is very safe to you and your baby!

We also offer the 4D ultrasound at about 22 to 24 weeks to be able to see your baby in 4D dimension!

5. High risk and Low risk pregnancy

Your initial prenatal visit and follow-ups visits allow the identification of low and high-risk pregnancy. The recognition and treatment of prenatal disorders is extremely important to maternal and fetal well-being. We will perform tests such as fetal surveillance, ultrasonography, and appropriate lab testing to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders.

Gestational Diabetes, preeclampsia, hypertension, preterm labor, cervical insufficiency, twins and multiple gestations, vaginal birth after cesarean section among other conditions are considered high risk gestations.

Maternal Fetal medicine specialists are exclusively dedicated to high-risk pregnancies and potential diseases that can happen while you are pregnant. We offer consultation to these specialists and we will take absolutely great care of you and your baby. Your safety and your baby are important to us!
